Andrea Kirwin and her band have been performing the music and lyrics of Tracy Chapman over 3 successful tours beginning with an tour of SE QLD in 2018, followed by an East Coast Tour of Australia in 2022 and more recently a 16 date tour East Coast run in February 2025. The music of Tracy Chapman has been the soundtrack for so many of us growing up in the late 80s when her self titled debut album, produced by David Kershenbaum for Elektra Records, came out on April 5 1988 (which has just celebrated it's 25th anniversary reprint on Vinyl!).

Every few years Andrea and her band perform their Tracy Chapman tribute show tour featuring songs from Tracy's 8 albums as a way to celebrate her musical legacy with other Tracy Chapman fans in Australia. The two hour show covers the well known hits 'Fast Car', 'Give Me One Reason' and 'Baby Can I Hold You' as well as some of the more poignant songs about social justice and other favourites chosen by the band. With great reviews from Tracy's fans, Andrea has enjoyed hearing the many stories of how much Tracy's music means to them as Tracy has been Andrea's favourite artist and inspiration in her own music journey after discovering Tracy's album in her older brother's cd collection when she was growing up in Townsville in the 90s.

Tracy's impact on the generation of singer-songwriter's that followed her cannot be understated. Her acoustic originals, powerful lyrics and authentic artistry and story telling paved the way for many artists and her debut album changed the landscape of the music industry. This special project celebrates Tracy's music across her discography and pays tribute to her while also being ready to be her backing band if she needs one when she tours to Australia again sometime in the future. The next Tracy Chapman Tribute show Tour will be in 2028 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Tracy's debut album.
